A Christmas Evening for the Whole Family
Join the North Tahoe Community Choir for an afternoon and an evening of Christmas music at St. Patrick's Church. The program features Amahl and the Night Visitors, alongside a generous helping of favorite Christmas carols and other seasonal pieces.
Gian Carlo Menotti wrote Amahl in 1951, and it was the first opera composed especially for American television. It follows a young shepherd and his mother on the night three kings stop at their door on the way to Bethlehem. It is a tender story about generosity and a small miracle, and a good fit for listeners of all ages.
