Speaker Series: “Unlocking Housing in Incline Village”
When: TBD - November 2024, 6PM - 7PM
Where: Parasol, upstairs training room.
Due to community demand, we have arranged a series of speaker events that we hope will facilitate solution-based conversations about housing in Incline village. Solving the housing challenges in Incline Village is a difficult task. Land prices are expensive and the cost of construction is even higher. There will always be a housing shortage in Incline Village because it is a beautiful place to live and it has tax benefits over neighboring California locations. We hope to unite the community around creating housing that is sustainable for the community. Help us find solutions to support the workers who create and sustain the healthy function of our community.
On November 12th, four professionals from the area will engage the audience on housing topics that interest the community. The evening will focus on using the housing that is already built in Incline Village in a different way to accommodate people who work in the area but aren’t able to live here. We will examine this topic through four lenses as listed below.

Washoe County: A representative will discuss WC’s involvement and needs for housing in IV (e.g. sheriff) - TBD speaker. Courtney Weiche

Conclusion: What can be done now? - Jonathon Gardner
The length of these speaker series events will be one hour. Please find your seat in the Parasol room upstairs ten minutes prior to start. Recordings of the event will be posted on the housing committee website: www.ivcba.org/housing
