Engineer in Training/Associate Engineer
Under the direction of the Engineering Manager, the Engineer in Training (EIT) supports District-wide engineering and construction projects at the trainee level. Responsibilities include assisting with water and wastewater utility systems, recreation facility improvements, and environmental or erosion control projects. At the intermediate level, the Associate Engineer plays a more active role in supporting and coordinating project planning, design, and inspection for District-wide capital and operational initiatives. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and administrative skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships and interact professionally with the public. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project scheduling tools (e.g., Gantt charts, CPM), as well as other engineering-related software. Experience with hydraulic modeling, AutoCAD, ArcGIS/ArcView, and related GIS and drafting programs is highly desirable. Requires: BA or BS Civil or Environmental Engineering Degree (4 year ABET accredited school); and/or passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam or ability to pass within 1 year; 1-3 years related engineering experience preferred or equivalent education/experience combination. Valid Driver's License & registration as an NV Engineering Intern (E.I.) or obtain within 1 year. Registration as NV Professional Engineer (P.E.) preferred. Rate: EIT $39.75-$55.64/hour DOE/DOQ.
